Coaching teams requires a different approach to working with individuals. As yet there are no validated approaches to coaching teams but in the absence of this it is possible to take an evidence based approach to working with teams.
There are other factors that support team effectiveness. For examples;
- The task the team needs to work on
- How strongly do the team members see themselves are part of the team
- The environment the team is working in
For the execution of work (planning and delivering) agile approaches (such as Scrum) have been demonstrated to be extremely effective for helping teams co-ordinate and deliver in complex environments. For all other team factors my work with Science of Teams informs and guides my approach to developing effective teams.
